Les Basques autrement is a multimedia documentary project that brings together the people, the environment and the historical specificities of the Les Basques region. It shows a growing community that finds creative solutions to contemporary problems and that wishes to live a life closer to its members’ values of self-sufficiency, self-governance and grassroots organizing.

 

The documentary is divided into three thematic chapters – Plant, Create and Resist - embodying the main sectors of alternative activity in the region: agriculture and food sovereignty, arts and culture and activism.

 

Take your time exploring each chapter and the community stories they tell. Though each video, audio feature and photo project is a story in and of itself, they can also be seen as puzzle pieces that together paint a portrait of Les Basques community.
